Webinar: Patient-Level Costing: Analytics, Benchmarking & Reporting
Following the successful upgrade and launch of our new costing solution, LOGEX is hosting an ongoing Financial Management Webinar programme for PLICs experts and financial managers of NHS Trusts.
LOGEX Costing is implemented in over 200 hospitals in Europe of which more than 40 Acute, Mental Health and Ambulance Trusts in the UK.
Our first session in November 2020 focussed on ‘Getting the most out of your PLICs data – Engagement and insights’, which was a popular event with more than 80 attendees and some great interaction and feedback.
During the last webinar, we discussed several important topics including:
- How financial control can be improved within the trust: With better Costing, Budgeting and Forecasting, Trusts can achieve more effective financial management control, leading to more performance improvement opportunities.
- Getting the most out of your PLICS data through active engagement: We discussed a number of real life examples and through our on-line poll, we were also able to highlight some of the key challenges Trusts face. Perhaps unsurprisingly, lack of clinical engagement was seen as one of the main barriers.
- Using new technology for engagement and insights: A faster, more powerful costing solution with high speed calculation and the ability to make changes instantly should not only make the work of costing practitioners easier, but will also enable improved internal interaction and the wider use of analytics.
- Panel discussion: Thanks again to Michael Harrison (Senior Costing Accountant at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS FT) and Mark Costello (Head of Financial Management at Bolton NHS FT). Our interactive panel session with Neil, Michael and Mark provided real insight from a Trust perspective and led to some great interaction with the audience on a range of themes including the impact of Covid-19 and the future of costing within ICS’s.
The next webinar in our financial management programme focuses on Patient Level Costing Analytics, Benchmarking, and Reporting, which will be held on Tuesday 9th of February 2021 from 11:00 am-12:30 BST.
