Our mission
Your impact and responsibilities
As a Data Engineer within the Clinical Outcomes business unit, you will be responsible for the execution of data requests on behalf of our clients. This includes:
- Operate and manage our data distribution pipeline to schedule and deliver data to internal and external clients.
- 50% of your work will consist of creating test datasets, configuring recurring exports and changes in recurring exports, and delivering standard data distribution requests. To operate the data distribution pipeline, you will (learn to) work with various different technologies and data engineering solutions (PostgresQL, Pentaho, Bash, Git, Kubernetes, Docker, Unix, shell scripts), as well as writing R-code.
- 50% of your work will consist of custom data distribution requests. On top of the requirements needed for the former, this consists of a deeper understanding of the datasources, data pipeline and writing more advanced R-code.
- Collaborate closely with the development team of our data distribution pipeline.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other data engineers on related projects and support them with data-related technical issues.
- Proactively propose enhancements and new features for our data distribution pipeline.
After a period of time your responsibilities will broaden based on your skills and preferences. This is expected to include contributing to various data driven analytics requests and projects, for instance analyzing data and writing or reviewing code to answer questions from- or create products for hospitals, medical professionals, pharmaceutical companies or clinical registries.
Your team
The Analytics team is part of the Real World Data division, that includes all teams that work on getting our data, insights and products from A (data delivery) to Z (Reports and dashboards for hospitals, medical professionals and clinical registries).
Your profile
- You will join the company with 1-2 years of experience as a data-engineer, data scientist or data analyst
- You have a proven track-record in programming and coding in R and SQL
- You have experience with bash/shell scripting
- You have a master’s degree preferably in a quantitative or information technology discipline or a similar field.
- You are fluent in Dutch; a good understanding of English is a pre.
- You are excited to use data analytics and engineering to help solve problems in healthcare
- You are a quick learner and are driven to keep learning and developing
- You are comfortable in an informal professional environment where you get a lot of freedom and responsibilities
- You are a “team player”
Preferably you have
- Experience using GIT
- Experience working with Python
- Experience with bitbucket and bitbucket pipelines
- Experience within the healthcare analytics domain
- Experience with Pentaho or other Java based technologies (big plus)
- A basic understanding of automated data engineering solutions in a cloud-computing context (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo), and a willingness to contribute and learn

Your profile
- You have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree, ideally within the medical or Life Sciences space, e.g. (technical) Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, MPA) or a Msc degree from a technical university with clear affinity with healthcare;
- You have 0-2 years of relevant working experience: e.g. (healthcare) project management, change, management or strategy consulting, worked as a Medical Doctor while having project management experience on side projects;

- Drawing and establishing data definitions through coordination with stakeholders both internally, with colleagues from all countries where LOGEX is active, and externally, with hospitals or other data suppliers.
- Setting up, coordinating, and executing processing and validation for new data sources.
- Identifying issues in existing data pipelines and implementing improvements together with the Data product & development teams
- Supporting customers with data deliveries
- Independently validating and analyzing the data with the aim of guaranteeing data quality standards
- Implement the validated data and prepare it for products and analyses.
- You are the go-to person for analysts with all their questions about data. You are a knowledge bearer about the data within our team. You know all the ins and outs, know exactly what the different fields entail and what the limitations are.
